This baby boy looks so vibrant and happy
He was born in Eastern Europe and left in an orphanage. When he aged out of his baby house he was transferred to a mental institution. He was left in a “laying room”….in a crib with very little care. Across the ocean he was advocated for, named Hanson, but never adopted.
It was there, in the laying room of the mental institution, that he died. His baby picture which surfaced this week has really struck me.
And then there’s the story of a young man across the ocean from Hanson. A young man who was born with disabilities much like Hanson. He was a strong advocate for Hanson. He so wanted him to have the love of a family. You can read more of his story here.
This candle is in honor of the young man with such a big heart, and in memory of Hanson and the other Lost boys.
